by your consultant or GP as a very useful adjunct to conventional
treatment.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Gut
directed hypnosis is hypnosis targeted towards the gut. It was first developed
by Dr. P.J. Whorwell at the University Hospital of South Manchester in 1984 for
the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). His department has both
clinical evidence and many years of practical experience to show that the
symptoms of IBS can be eliminated or substantially reduced by the use of this
method. Eight out of ten patients readily admit to feeling 80% better following
a course of treatment.
Hypno- Chemo Programme
The
Hypno-Chemo programme was originally devised by Holistic Resources at
Rossendale Hospice. It is now a community (Lottery) funded Clinical Audit that
has gone England wide. Due to the acclaim this project has received,
there are currently only a limited number of trained Hypnotherapists
available. St. Lukes’s (Cheshire) Hospice is one of the first hospices to
offer this service.Their
therapist is Fraser White.
